About the Author
Called “a consummate poet” by Robert Creeley, Bernadette Mayer was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1945. A most prolific poet, her first book was published at the age of twenty-three. Many texts later she continues to write progressive poetry from her home in East Nassau, New York. For many years Mayer lived and worked on the Lower East Side of Manhattan where she was the Director of St. Mark’s Poetry Project from 1980-1984. Bernadette Mayer has received grants and awards from PEN American Center, The Foundation for Contemporary Performance Art, the NEA, The Academy of American Poets, and The American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Having been at a recent poetry open mic, where Ms. Mayer was the guest speaker, and she graced the audience with a reading from this newer work, I had to snatch up a copy. If you live in Troy, NY....or you HAVE lived in Troy, NY...or you wished you might live in Troy NY, ...then grab this small but concise piece of the heart of what Troy is. About the Author
Brian G. Henning has a doctorate in philosophy from Fordham University. He is professor of philosophy and environmental studies at Gonzaga University.�He was awarded the John N. Henning is coauthor or coeditor of several books, including Genesis, Evolution, and the Search for a Reasoned Faith; Thinking with Whitehead and American Pragmatism; Being in America: Sixty Years of the Metaphysical Society; Beyond Mechanism: Putting Life Back Into Biology; and Beyond Metaphysics? A hopeful introduction to the problem of climate change

This book is helpful for multiple audiences. Readers who want only a background on the issues of climate change, environmental ethics, and what solutions are available both to nations and individuals will find this book easy to read yet highly informative. Instructors teaching classes in ethics or especially environmental ethics will find this a suitable candidate for textbook requirement. Henning's clear writing is supplemented with charts and graphics that make technical material easier to understand.

What I like best about this book is the theme of hope the pervades Henning's vision for solutions to our environmental crises. Drawing on the best available resources in science, philosophy, and even theology, Henning makes a strong case that it is not too late to choose a path that will avoid the worst case scenarios involving the future of our planet. In other words, rather than giving in to the temptation to say "It's too late to make a difference" or "what can one person do, especially this late in the game," this book will inspire you to take positive actions regarding the environment and offer solid, clear, and surprisingly simple strategies for thinking about environmental ethics.

I found the book a good basis for a foundational study of Church history

For anyone who has a sincere interest in how the church, God's testimony in the world today, came to be the many legged, often times monster it is, Miller's Church history is a highly recommendable book. While the syntax is difficult and the punctuation often not what is expected, I found the book a good basis for a foundational study of Church history. Given my previous studies of the church and its history I could find very little with which to argue. Its a deserving book, especially given the author's clear view of the grace of God and the role of modern clergy.

Fantastic Value, Easy to Follow, Excellent Book

This book is wonderful. The illustrations are clear and concise. It is very well-organized and informative. Every page is full color and chock-full of hot tips. The book at full price is worth every penny!
I teach Scratch Programming to elementary and middle school students, and I find this is one of the most approachable, useful, thorough and fun of all the books on Scratch I have found to-date.
I recommend this book to all my students and their parents, and would also recommend it to anyone trying to learn or to teach Scratch. Thank you to the author for putting together such an excellent resource.

Great project based approach to learning Scratch.

I'm teaching a group of elementary school students about programming using Scratch. Students range from grade 3 through 7. I bought this book for a few reasons: 1) to help ensure that I cover off the necessary material to teach the kids about programming; 2) to get some ideas for sample programs to use; and 3) to look for any helpful tips and tricks.

The book has proven useful on all accounts. It's logical and easy to follow. I haven't used these projects directly in my teaching, but they've helped give me an idea about the complexity of a good sample project, for when I make up my own examples.

I will be recommending this book to the students, as I think most of them would be able to work through it on their own.

Part II elucidates the basic principles of stratigraphic analysis, while Part III shows how stratigraphy is used in understanding sedimentary basin evolution, the interplay between tectonics and sedimentation, paleoenvironmental reconstruction, paleoclimatology, and the geologic history of other planets. There is also a chapter devoted to “problem” periods in earth history, where both the strengths and limitations of stratigraphic methods are illustrated.

If you're a undergraduate student or amateur geologist and need a firm grasp of stratigraphy, this should be the first book you reach for to understand the basic concepts. Well written with easily structured terminology, and a proper sequence of introducing often complex idea's that walk you through the principles of stratigraphy and the many sub-disciplines that set the foundation of the subject. This is a great introduction before moving on to Reading, Miall, and Leeder....

About the Author
Smith Wigglesworth (1859–1947) was born in England in 1859. Immediately after his conversion as a boy, he had a concern for the salvation of others and won people to Christ, including his mother. He became a plumber by trade, yet he continued to devote himself to winning many people to Christ on an individual basis. In 1882, he married Polly Featherstone, a vivacious young woman who loved God and had a gift of preaching and evangelism. It was she who taught him to read and who became his closest confidant and strongest supporter. They both had compassion for the poor and needy in their community, and they opened a mission, at which Polly preached. Significantly, people were miraculously healed when Wigglesworth prayed for them.

In 1907, Wigglesworth's circumstances changed dramatically when, at the age of forty–eight, he was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Suddenly, he had a new power that enabled him to preach, and even his wife was amazed at the transformation. This was the beginning of what became a worldwide evangelistic and healing ministry that reached thousands. He eventually ministered in the United States, Australia, South Africa, and all over Europe. His ministry extended to the time of his death in 1947.

The Believer's Rich Inheritance in Christ

The Good Lord confirmed the ministry of this blessed man of God through powerful signs and wonders.
This book reveals the privilages the believer has in Christ Jesus; the power that is available through the Holy Spirit to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever hope for. Wigglesworth shows the believer how to secure G-d's favor on their life, obtain freedeom from sin, practice the presence of
G-d, take authority over the enemy, and experience the supernatural.
This book is a wonderful faith builder, simply written, and very positive. Only believe, all things are possible.

The Authority for whom faith is strong.

The Paraclete, which is translated as "Advocate" or "Comforter," is the guiding force that shapes John's Gospel vision of Jesus. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit which enables one to heal, it's not Smith Wigglesworth who heals, but the Holy Spirit working through Smith Wigglesworth. The experiences and emotions Mr. Wigglesworth bears during his walk with the Lord are expressed in his writings. This is not an autobiography, it's the words he put down expressing the experience of having the Holy Spirit work through him.
