Later they learn of two deaths in Madrid. Justice was served.

A clerk was found dead, he had technical papers on a secret weapon. Holmes investigates, then devises a plan to trap the guilty party. It works, and a letter is mailed to catch his accomplice and the rest of the secret papers.
