Religious Propaganda

My roomie one day handed me a signed copy of this book, that Julian had presented him with, while visiting in Ireland. I was thrilled, from the cover it looked like it would be a good book.

Though far from a brilliant read, it was a typical book of " Oh, I had a drug problem...and because it is fashionable...I will quit and find God." That basically tells the book in a nutshell.

Julien one day was handed a joint by some friends of his, and then from there he just went downhill, seeing as how reefer is the gateway drug for everything else. He starts going to raves and dancing, negelcting his family...it is an ABC afterschool special in a book, with a SEVERE mormon influence. If Julien hadn't discovered the LDS church, he feels he may have died a young death.

While many people who are into the rave culture, will consider this book a piece of hackwork, it is a good book for those who are young and under the influence, and deciding whether to taste the posion, or find an escape out of it all into sobriety. It reads like an outline and will finish fast.

should be required reading in schools

When I was told we were having a drug awareness seminar at my school, I was expecting another police officer warning us about how all drug abusers would be caught by them and scaring us that our lives would be ruined with drugs. What we were told, however, was a personal account about how destructive drugs really can be. Julian Madigan was painfully honest about his ordeals, and his book is no different. His life revolved around raves and ecstasy, and he writes about his downfall into drugs and his struggle to leave the culture behind. As far as I am concerned, we don't have enough people like Julian who tell it like it is. His crusade against the drug culture is to stop other teens from making the same mistakes he did. All teenagers, and parents, should read this book.

Hack writing for NA/Mormon Church

I intially purchased this book because of the title, i thought that it might be a good look into the rave scene and a person's story about it. instead i found a poorly written, uninspiring, pity piece. As someone who has experienced the same scene in the SF Bay and recovered on my own i feel that this book is a let down on all fronts. It does not adequetely describe the dangers and the pleasures of the scene. It does a horrid job of explaining the come down, being etarded. And it is a propaganda piece for the Church of LDS. It is great that this kid transcribed his experiences for people but should not be read by anyone over 14 or somewhat intelligent.

Must Read For Any MD/Researcher/Engineer Worth Their Salt

"The Body Electric" (1) and "Cross Currents" (2)These books are the basis for electro-medicine good/harmful effects. They (the first one especially) provide cogent explanations on the cancer
mechanisms; bone/tissue/organ regeneration and electromagnetic effects. One can deduce how wrong and primitive mainstream thinking is in these matters.

I think these books should be required reading by any MD/researcher/engineer worth her/his salt.
Incidentally Dr. Becker, far ahead of his time, is the king of stem cell research, however, he was hounded by the mainstream as his research would have put much of the wrong headed & self serving research funding in jeopardy and he hardly ever gets credit for his ground breaking work.

I rated this book with 3 stars because I was slightly disappointed with it. My preconception was that it would explain how to build & use a device that would cure body afflictions using micro currents of electricity. It didn't. It was interesting to read about using electricity to grow back a leg & foot on a salamander though. It wasn't shocking news to me reading that this Dr. wasn't getting any encouragement from mainstream Dr's or the pharma industry. If you'd like to read about healing with electricity, I'd suggest you researching the writings of Hulda Regher Clark PhD, ND.
